# Fountain Hills Peptide Therapy

A treatment page catches your eye. Then come the words you don’t know. Let’s start with the medicine, the visit and the bill.

The medicine

## What is peptide therapy, exactly?

Imagine a page offering help with weight or ageing. The broad name does not tell you which treatment it means.

A peptide is a tiny substance with parts linked in a short chain, rather like beads threaded together.

Insulin belongs to the peptide group; that group’s name alone cannot establish a product’s safety or whether it is legal.

FDA means Food and Drug Administration. The name of the drug matters more than the broad phrase “peptide therapy”.

### An approved medicine

FDA approval means the agency judged that the drug works for a specific use and is safe enough for that use.

Semaglutide, sold as Ozempic and Wegovy, has FDA-approved forms for these uses, among others (September 26, 2026).

Ozempic injections and tablets help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes.

Wegovy injections and tablets help with weight loss and keeping weight off, alongside changes in food and activity.

Ask which approved use matches the exact medicine and the reason it is being offered to you.

### A medicine made to order

A pharmacist or doctor can prepare medicine to suit a patient’s needs; this is called compounding.

As of September 26, 2026, compounded drugs remain without FDA approval.

Before a compounded drug reaches the market, FDA does not review how safe it is, whether it works, or its quality.

A made-to-order medicine can be lawful, but the type of maker and the ingredients matter (September 26, 2026).

One lawful route lets a licensed pharmacy or doctor prepare medicine for a specific patient who has a valid prescription.

A larger facility can instead sign up with FDA under a compounding law and make batches without a prescription for each named patient.

For a regular pharmacy, an ingredient must meet its official quality standard, a written set of quality rules, if one exists.

If none exists, it must be in an approved drug; otherwise it must be on FDA’s allowed ingredient list.

Ask the pharmacist to explain the full rules for this medicine, which route applies, and what permits its ingredients. Ask the prescriber why it is needed.

### A product labelled for research

For weight-loss drugs sold for people, FDA warns about products marked “not for human consumption” or carrying a “for research purposes” label (September 26, 2026).

Those labels say the product is for a study, not for a person to take.

These products may be harmful, and their quality is not known.

The visit

## What does getting care involve?

Picture a choice between sitting in a room and having a telehealth visit: care over video or another remote method.

### The assessment comes first

Some Arizona prescriptions can follow a remote exam without an earlier in-person visit (October 3, 2026).

The clinician still needs an exam that fits your health needs and may only prescribe within the work their licence allows.

Rules for the particular drug also apply; a video visit does not guarantee a prescription.

Bring your current medicine list and the main question you want answered. Ask how any needed tests or hands-on exam will be arranged.

The bill

## What might it cost?

A small headline price catches your eye. Ask what it covers before putting it beside another offer.

### Starting offers are only a starting point

GLP-1 drugs copy a body signal involved in hunger and blood sugar.

The government’s cash-price page listed these monthly starting offers on September 26, 2026.

Wegovy tablets: from $149 a month.

Wegovy injection pens: from $199 a month.

Ozempic injection pens: from $199 a month.

Zepbound (tirzepatide) injections: from $299 a month.

Those offers can depend on the drug’s strength or be limited to the start; they are not the price for every month or product.

Ask for the visit or membership fee, tests, medicine, delivery and later care as separate items. Include the renewal price and the terms for leaving.

### Check the price after the offer

The Ozempic offer covered the first two monthly supplies at $199 each for eligible new patients paying without insurance (September 26, 2026).

Here, a monthly Ozempic supply means a box with one injection pen, the device that holds the medicine for shots.

The offer was for adults living in the US, limited to lower-strength pens, and due to end on December 31, 2026.

The later price was $349 or $499 a month, depending on strength.

Paying without using insurance does not count toward the plan’s deductible.

A deductible is the amount a plan makes you pay before it starts to pay.

### A Medicare route has its own limits

For eligible adults, Medicare’s GLP-1 Bridge provides certain weight-loss medicines with a $50 monthly copay, the amount they pay (September 26, 2026).

This temporary program starts on July 1, 2026, and continues through December 31, 2027.

Eligibility depends on weight, certain other health problems, Medicare drug coverage and whether that coverage already paid for one of these drugs.

For people who have type 2 diabetes, the route remains Medicare’s usual drug coverage.

Ask your plan whether your health conditions, past drug coverage and proposed medicine qualify. A copay is the part you pay.
